Staying active during your holiday!

Having difficulties with maintaining an healhty lifestyle during your holiday or weekend trips?
We’ve got you!

Staying active during a holiday or weekend trip is a great way to make the most of your time while also maintaining your health and well-being. Here are some tips to help you stay active:

Plan ahead: Research the destination beforehand to find out about outdoor activities, hiking trails, bike rentals, or nearby fitness centers. Knowing your options will help you prepare for an active trip.

Pack appropriate gear: Bring comfortable shoes, workout clothes and any equipment you might need, such as resistance bands or a yoga mat. Having the right gear will encourage you to stay active.

Explore on foot or bike: Explore your destination by walking or cycling. This allows you to see more of the surroundings while getting some exercise.

Take active tours: Look for guided tours that involve physical activity, such as walking tours, kayaking excursions or bike tours. These can be enjoyable and educational experiences that keep you active.

Engage in outdoor activities: Seek out activities like hiking, swimming, snorkeling or paddleboarding, depending on your location. These activities not only keep you active but also let you enjoy nature and the outdoors.

Schedule exercise time: Plan specific time slots for exercise during your trip. This could be in the morning before you start your day or in the evening after your activities. Treat it as a priority and stick to your schedule.

Try local fitness classes: Check if there are any fitness classes or group activities available in the area you’re visiting. Many places offer yoga, pilates or dance classes that you can join as a visitor.

Be active during transit: If you’re traveling by plane, use your layovers to walk around the airport instead of sitting at the gate. If you’re driving, take regular breaks to stretch and move around.

Choose active accommodations: Look for hotels or accommodations that have fitness facilities, swimming pools or other amenities that promote physical activity. Take advantage of these facilities during your stay.

Involve others: If you’re traveling with friends or family, encourage them to join you in staying active. Plan group activities, play sports together or explore the local surroundings as a team.

Remember, staying active during a trip doesn’t have to feel like a chore. It’s about finding activities you enjoy and incorporating them into your holiday or weekend-away. Do you feel you need help with maintaining your health and well-being? Our personal trainers are happy to assist.
